The American start-up of artificial intelligence Anthropic has reached a major milestone in the global race at the AI. On Thursday, May 28, 2026, the company announced a fund-raising of $65 billion, bringing its value to $965 billion, according to information reported by the financial sector. This increase allows it to exceed OpenAI, estimated at about $730 billion, and to become one of the most powerful players in the global technology market.
Founded in 2021 by former managers of OpenAI, Anthropic quickly imposes himself thanks to his chatbot Claude, used in professional and technical tasks. Based in San Francisco, the company also claims to generate annualized revenues of $47 billion. This dramatic rise, however, comes in a context marked by concerns about financial losses in the sector and the risk of bubbles around artificial intelligence.
This exploit also occurs at the time when Pope Leo XIV increases the warnings against the drifts of artificial intelligence. He calls for strict supervision of this technology in order to avoid it becoming a tool of domination or gradually escaping human control.
