North, May 4, 2026.- The US Coast Guard intercepted a large shipment of drugs off Môle Saint-Nicolas, including 1,376 kilograms of marijuana. The goods were then handed over to the Haitian authorities, while a Jamaican national was arrested and placed at the disposal of the judiciary.
The National Police of Haiti (PNH), through the Brigade de Lutte contre le Trafic de Stupéfiants (BLTS/North), received a large shipment of drugs seized at sea by the American Coast Guard off Môle Saint-Nicolas.
The operation, conducted on 30 April 2026, allowed the interception of a suspicious vessel carrying 1,376 kilograms of marijuana in 66 bags. A Jamaican national, identified as Aldane Anderson aka Ali, was arrested at the scene.
According to the authorities, the drug was officially handed over on 3 May 2026 in the presence of a justice of the peace and representatives of the relevant security forces. The evidence as well as the suspect were transferred to the BLTS for further prosecution.
The HNP reaffirms its determination to combat drug trafficking throughout the national territory and welcomes the collaboration of international partners in the fight against drug trafficking.
