Kenscoff: Nou Bouke warns about the security situation and calls for mobilization to hold the authorities accountable

The Mouvement citoyenne Nou Bouke responded to the massacre in Kenscoff on the night of 23-24 August 2026. In a note published this Tuesday, August 25 since Paris, in France, the organization questions the management of the security crisis by the government of Alix Didier Sons-Aimé and also criticizes the action of foreign forces present in Haiti. According to Nou Bouke, these arrangements did not prevent the continuation of the massacres or provide sufficient protection for the population.

The organisation stresses that the most vulnerable groups continue to pay the high price of violence: peasants, workers, traders, women, children, youth without a future and displaced persons. It calls for immediate assistance to the families of the victims, a reorientation of security priorities towards the protection of the population and the opening of a national debate on current policies.

Nou Bouke calls on popular organizations, trade unions, citizen associations, youth movements and the Haitian diaspora to mobilize to hold the authorities accountable. The movement also considers that the current conditions do not provide the necessary guarantees for the holding of free, transparent and secure elections, evoking the risk of the recurrence of electoral violence such as those in the Vaillant Street on 29 November 1987.
