Zed Airlines deploys a Boeing 737-400 on the Port-au-Prince/Cap-Haitien route

Zed Airlines CEO, David Jean Charles

Port-au-Prince, August 17, 2026.- Zed Airlines took another step in the development of its domestic network with the introduction of a Boeing 737-400 on the Port-au-Prince/Cap-Haitien route. The company successfully carried out, Friday, August 14, 2026, the inaugural flight of this aircraft, with a capacity of 160 passengers.

Speaker Monday, August 17th on Magik 9, Zed Airlines CEO David Jean Charles explained that the use of a larger aircraft responds to the need to improve passenger comfort and take better care of their luggage. He presented this evolution around three priorities: modernization, innovation and standardisation.

The link will be operated on Tuesdays and Fridays at two frequencies per day. In particular, the scheme should facilitate travel between the two main cities of the country and allow travellers connecting with the United States, in particular Miami, to travel more easily via Port-au-Prince or Cap-Haitien.

Commercially, the company announces two tariff categories. The standard ticket is offered at $222.99, with checked baggage of up to 23 kg. The Flex formula, at $250, also includes a bag of 23 kg and offers more flexibility for passengers. Zed Airlines is also considering integrating freight services, based on demand and operational capacity.

CEO David Jean Charles also addressed the technical incidents affecting some of the company's aircraft and the suspicions of sabotage as a result of these events. He stressed the seriousness of any intervention that might jeopardize aviation safety and indicated that the facts had been reported to the competent authorities. For Zed Airlines, the increase in capacity must be accompanied by strict compliance with safety requirements and continuous improvement of operations.

With the arrival of the Boeing 737-400, Zed Airlines therefore intends to offer more capacity, comfort and possibilities for the transport of baggage, while strengthening the air connectivity between Port-au-Prince and Cap-Haitien. The company presents this development as a new step in its strategy to make domestic air transportation more reliable, accessible and responsive to the needs of travellers.
