Towards a new anti-corruption strategy: the ULCC consults local actors in Jacmel

The Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC), with the support of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), organized a new stage in the cycle of regional consultations on the development of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NLCS) in Jacmel on Monday, 8 June 2026. This initiative is a continuation of the process initiated in 2025 and aims to integrate territorial realities into the definition of national public integrity guidelines.

The meeting brought together representatives of public institutions, the judiciary, local authorities, the private sector, civil society and academia. Discussions focused on key challenges related to governance and anti-corruption mechanisms, as well as priorities for prevention, control and enforcement of corrupt practices.

The participants also attended presentations on progress in the development of the SNLCC and the role of the National Integrity System (NIS). Working workshops and restitution sessions produced proposals and recommendations for the future national strategy.
