The Cuban Medical Brigade in Haiti held this Friday, February 13, 2026, its annual general meeting under the direction of Dr. Efren Acosta Damascus, in the presence of the Cuban Ambassador Ricardo García Nápoles and the Haitian Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Sinal Bertrand.
The work analysed the actions carried out in 2025, a year marked by numerous initiatives for the benefit of the people of the South and the Grande Anse, where more than 60 brigade members were deployed.
During this meeting, the leaders stressed the Cuban mission's continued commitment to strengthening access to health care in Haiti, in accordance with the principle upheld by Cuban leadership, which places public health as a vital priority for society. The authorities present welcomed the contribution of the brigade to the improvement of health services in the areas concerned, in a national context always marked by major structural challenges.
