Port-au-Prince, July 5, 2026.- A few hours after being replaced by the General Directorate of the Unit for Combating Corruption (ULCC), Hans Ludwig Joseph published a message in which he took stock of his transition to the head of the institution. The former Director General claims to have performed his duties with integrity, responsibility and a deep sense of duty towards the State.
During his tenure, Hans Ludwig Joseph supervised the publication of several investigative reports involving State officials and institutions for alleged acts of corruption, misappropriation of public funds and serious administrative irregularities, he wrote. His departure already feeds many reactions.
Some observers believe that its replacement could be linked to its firmness in conducting investigations and to the fact that ULCC was, under its leadership, an obstacle for some influential political actors. However, no evidence was provided to establish a link between this speculation and the authorities' decision to replace it.
