The Haitian Prime Minister, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, left Port-au-Prince this Sunday, July 5, 2026 to attend the 49th Ordinary Conference of Heads of State and Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), held in Saint Lucia. The information was confirmed by the Primature in an official note.
This summit brings together the leaders of the Member States on several major issues, including strengthening regional security, economic integration, combating the effects of climate change, sustainable development, food security and the challenges of governance and cooperation among the Caribbean countries. The work is also aimed at defining common directions to address the challenges facing the region.
In the margins of the plenary sessions, the head of the Haitian government must hold a series of bilateral meetings with several Heads of State and Government, as well as with officials of regional organizations. According to the Primature, these exchanges will be devoted to the strengthening of cooperation between Haiti and its Caribbean partners, to the follow-up of the current agreements and to the consideration of new opportunities for collaboration in areas of common interest.
