A Gulfstream G200 Galaxy business aircraft, flying charter to Austin, Texas, crashed on Sunday, June 7, 2026, near La Romana International Airport, Dominican Republic. According to the authorities, the aircraft had previously left Puerto Rico before stopping at La Romana for supplies.
According to preliminary reports from the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC), the crew reported technical problems a few minutes after take-off and requested an emergency return to the airport. The aircraft was approximately 16 nautical miles southwest of La Romana when he declared the emergency. During the return manoeuvre, the aircraft lost stability and crashed inside the airport perimeter. The two occupants, the pilot and the co-pilot, died in the accident.
Civil aviation authorities have announced the initiation of an investigation to determine the exact causes of the accident. As the security operations of the site continue, investigators are working to gather the necessary evidence to reconstruct the facts and establish the circumstances of this aerial drama.
