Risk premium and security : Lionel Lazarre breaks the silence on Magik 9

PNH spokesman Lionel Lazarre

Port-au-Prince, July 13, 2026.- The spokesman of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), Lionel Lazarre, in an interview granted to Magik 9, this Monday, July 13, strongly denied the rumours announcing a 15% decrease on the premium of risk of the police officers. While cutting short on this disinformation campaign, the representative of the police institution took advantage of this forum to take stock of the overall security situation in the country.

In his speech, Lionel Lazarre was categorical in calling the noises on social networks pure speculations without any legal basis. He strongly argued that no such decision was envisaged either by the Primature or by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), which remain the sole State bodies competent to validate such financial measures. In this way, the spokesperson sought to reassure the troops of the integrity of their social benefits in a context where their engagement on the ground is more than ever sought.

Beyond this development, the spokesperson's intervention has shifted to the heart of the news: the major security challenges facing the population. Lionel Lazarre presented the outline of the ongoing operations and the strategies deployed by the High Command to track down the crime centres. While acknowledging the complexity of the task, he reaffirmed the determination of the HNP to regain control of the territory, stressing that the stability of the institution and the morale of the officers were essential to the successful completion of the mission.

To close his intervention, the senior official issued a solemn call for vigilance and cohesion, calling on police and citizens not to sideline the tactics of information destabilization. He recalled that any change in working conditions or any official announcement will be relayed exclusively through the State's institutional channels of communication. It is on this note of transparency and firmness that Lionel Lazarre concluded, sealing the PNH's will to stand together against insecurity and media poisoning.
