Port-au-Prince, September 25, 2026.- Thirty new assistant public accountants (CPA) of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) participated on Thursday in a special day of declaration of assets organized by the Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC). Held at the request of the Directorate-General for Treasury and Public Accounting, this initiative aims to facilitate compliance with the legal obligations of the agents concerned and to promote transparency in public administration.

The day was opened by the Director of Operations of the ULCC, magistrate Marie Ange Jean, who welcomed the initiative of the MEF and stressed the importance of interinstitutional collaboration in preventing corruption and promoting administrative integrity.

Prior to the formalization, participants attended an information session moderated by Jims Alix Prévilon, Assistant Chief of the ULCC Heritage Reporting Service. He presented them with the main provisions of the Act of 12 February 2008, including the obligations of the subject persons and the penalties for non-compliance.

At the end of this session, the new accountants received individualised support to complete their declaration. The procedure includes the authentication of the document before a notary and the completion of the required formalities with the government commissioner and the clerk.

Through this initiative, the ULCC aims to facilitate compliance with legal obligations while raising public officials' awareness of their transparency responsibilities. For these new accountants, who are called upon to intervene in the management of public resources, the declaration of assets constitutes a legal obligation and an instrument to prevent corruption.
