The UNESCO Resident Representative in Haiti, Eric Voli Bi, welcomed Daniela Kroslav, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and Head of the United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNOH), on Thursday, 9 July 2026, during a courtesy visit focused on strengthening cooperation between UN structures.
Discussions focused on common United Nations priorities in Haiti, including institution support, peacebuilding, democratic governance and community resilience. UNOWA reaffirmed its strategic and technical support role to the Haitian authorities and international partners.
It should be noted that in the security field, the mission of UNOGBIS is to facilitate coordination, provide technical support, support institutional reforms and ensure respect for the principles of the rule of law and human rights. The operational management of the Gang Repression Force (deployment, equipment, transport and supply) is the responsibility of the Haitian authorities and contributing countries, in order to achieve the restoration of security and sustainable stability.
