Haiti sends a medical mission to Venezuela after the earthquakes of 24 June

 

On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, the Government of Haiti announced the deployment of a medical solidarity mission in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, following the two violent earthquakes that struck the country on June 24. This delegation, led by the Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Sinal Bertrand, includes 31 health professionals mobilized to provide medical and humanitarian assistance to the affected populations.

Through this initiative, the Haitian authorities intend to strengthen the historical ties of cooperation and friendship between Haiti and Venezuela. The Government stresses that this approach reflects a desire for solidarity towards a people facing a natural disaster, recalling that Haiti, itself marked by similar episodes, understands the difficulties associated with emergency situations.

The Government of Haiti has also extended its sympathies to the families affected by the earthquakes and expressed its support for the Venezuelan people. This medical mission is part of a dynamic of cooperation between the two countries and aims to demonstrate the importance of international assistance in the face of humanitarian crises.
