The Grenadiers race at the 2026 World Cup draws attention beyond the results. Their performances, especially against Morocco, impressed several observers, including in Africa, where the idea of seeing Haiti participate one day in the African Cup of Nations is beginning to emerge, according to Haiti Tempo.
With the announced evolution of the CAN from 2028 onwards towards an expanded format and a schedule aligned with FIFA, some suggest the possibility of inviting selections outside the continent, like the Copa América or the Gold Cup.
Journalist Anthony Pla, a specialist in African football, even places Haiti among the possible candidates. He believes that such an opening would strengthen the links between Africa and the Caribbean diaspora, while giving a new dimension to competition, even if this idea is still hypothetical.
