Port-au-Prince, August 10, 2026.- The owner of the Chef Creole restaurants in Florida, Ken Séjour, claims that the end of the Temporary Protection Status (TPS) could directly affect his business, which employs a large labour force from the Haitian community and other immigrant communities. Invited this Monday, August 10, 2026 on the program Magik 9, he also defended an inclusive vision of entrepreneurship and explained his support for Donald Trump, whom he said he chose for his business and economic policy.

Ken Séjour explained that Chef Creole has developed over the years, relying heavily on a labour force from immigrant communities. According to him, the company can employ several hundred people depending on the activity, especially during holiday periods and catering-contractor events.

The restorer insists on the economic role of his business within the community. He says he always wanted Chief Creole to be a space where « Everyone works « , regardless of origin or nationality. Haitians, Jamaicans, Bahamians, Dominicans, Ecuadorians, Quebecers and Americans are, according to her testimony, among the people who worked or worked in her institutions.

A labour force affected by migration issues

When asked about the end of the GST, Ken Séjour stresses that the migration situation of its employees is a concern for the company. It refers in particular to workers benefiting from the GST, but also to persons engaged in asylum proceedings or having other status of residence.

For the owner of Chef Creole, the question therefore goes beyond the administrative framework. It directly affects companies that depend on this labour force and, more broadly, the local economy.

A kitchen presented as a factor of integration

Ken Séjour also presents Chef Creole as a company built around the mix of cultures. The cuisine offered in its restaurants is mainly inspired by Haitian and Caribbean gastronomy, while integrating influences from other culinary traditions in the region.

His objective, he explains, is to introduce this cuisine to as many people as possible, without limiting it to the Haitian clientele. For him, gastronomy can thus become a means of bringing different communities together.

His support for Donald Trump explained by the economy

During the interview, Ken Séjour also explained his choice to vote for Donald Trump. He said he was particularly sensitive to the Republican candidate's speech on business, the economy and the functioning of the private sector.

He points out, however, that his election choice is a personal decision and does not mean that he necessarily approves all aspects of Donald Trump's policy.

For Ken Séjour, his entrepreneurial career, education and personal values have greatly contributed to his vision of work, success and responsibility to the community.
