Tabarre, August 11, 2026.- In the run-up to the next elections, the National Police of Haiti (PNH), through the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ), reminds candidates for the various elective positions of the steps to be taken to obtain their police certificate. Candidates from the West must apply to the DCPJ, while those from other departments may apply to the Departmental Judicial Police Services (DPJS).
According to a communiqué issued by the Directorate of Communication of the Police (DICOP), the police certificate is part of the documents required for the election process.
Candidates for the positions of CASEC, ASEC, municipal councillor, MP, senator and President of the Republic are affected by this procedure.
To obtain the certificate, candidates must prepare several documents, including:
- A receipt from the General Directorate of Taxes (DGI);
- A copy of the National Identification Card (NIC);
- A copy of the birth certificate or an extract from the National Archives;
- Two recent identity photos in passport format, on a white background;
- A copy of the marriage certificate for married women;
- A letter of nomination;
- A copy of the biometric passport page.
The HNP invites applicants to prepare their documents in advance and to verify their compliance with established requirements to facilitate the processing of applications.
The institution specifies that the issuance of the police certificate is carried out in accordance with the administrative and judicial procedures in force, in the context of the electoral process.
