Port-au-Prince, February 16, 2026.- The National Police of Haiti received, this Monday, February 16, 2026, ten armoured vehicles intended to strengthen its operational capacity in the fight against great banditry. Provided by UNOPS, this equipment is part of international cooperation efforts to support the Haitian authorities in restoring security.

The official ceremony was held in the presence of the President of the Superior Council of the National Police (CSPN), Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, as well as representatives of the Canadian Embassy in Haiti, including André François Giroux. This remission symbolizes the renewed commitment of international partners alongside Haitian law enforcement.

According to the authorities, these ten armoured vehicles will improve the mobility and protection of police units engaged in areas most vulnerable to armed violence. They should facilitate interventions in hard-to-reach neighbourhoods, while ensuring greater security for field officers.

In his speech, the head of the CSFN welcomed the support judged « determining » in the current context. It reaffirmed the authorities' commitment to continue efforts to restore law and order, as the country continues to face a particularly worrying security situation.
