Secretary of State for Communication Joseph Lucien Jura met with ANMH and AMIH leaders on Friday 24 July to lay the foundations for a closer dialogue between the state and the media on the major issues of public communication.
The discussions focused on several issues, including the modernization of government communication, the transition from analogue to digital television and the need for public information closer to citizens' concerns.
On this occasion, the representatives of the two associations welcomed the appointment of Mr Jura, considering that his career in journalism is an asset in establishing a constructive dialogue between the State and the press. The Secretary of State, for his part, reaffirmed the will of the government of Alix Didier Fils-Aimé to develop a partnership based on dialogue, transparency and a better flow of information in the service of democracy.
