Cap-Haïtien : the construction of the airport intersection axis – rue 5 progresses

 

The rehabilitation work of the axis linking the airport junction to the boulevard of street 5, in Cap-Haitien is progressing. According to a press release issued on 26 July 2026, the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communications (MTPTC) reported that the project, led by the Northern Department, had already reached the ground marking phase on several sections after the asphalt concrete coating operations.

This intervention is part of road infrastructure modernization projects in the Northern Department. According to the MTPTC, the objective is to improve road traffic on this strategic axis, to smooth travel between the airport and the city centre, while facilitating economic activities and user mobility.

Through this project, the authorities want to further strengthen the national road network and improve the transport conditions in the second city of the country. According to the MTPTC, the work is continuing in order to complete the development of this artery, considered a key point for the urban and economic development of Cap-Haitien.
