Alix Didier Sons-Aimé mobilizes the Boston diaspora for the recovery of Haiti

 

Visiting Boston on June 12, 2026, Haitian Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé met with members of the Haitian community to discuss security challenges, electoral prospects and the role of the diaspora in rebuilding the country. He reaffirmed the Government's commitment to restore security and to hold credible elections as soon as possible.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Haiti, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, met with the Haitian community in Boston during an exchange session devoted to the national situation and prospects of the country.

During this meeting, the Head of Government presented the measures taken to restore security throughout the national territory. In particular, he highlighted the efforts to strengthen the operational capacities of the Haitian National Police (HNP) and the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd-H), which continue to fight against armed groups with the support of the multinational security force.

The Prime Minister also reiterated the authorities' willingness to hold democratic, free, inclusive and credible elections as soon as possible in order to allow a return to institutional normalcy.

Welcoming the diaspora's attachment to its country of origin, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé highlighted its essential contribution to Haiti's economic and social development. He assured that the government intends to maintain a permanent dialogue with Haitians living abroad and to strengthen their participation in national recovery efforts.

This meeting in Boston is part of the government's strategy to strengthen ties with the diaspora, considered a key player in Haiti's quest for stability, development and prosperity.
