VIKTWA defends alliance and rejects proximity critics with power

Me Camille Leblanc

Port-au-Prince, August 26, 2026.- Guest of Panel Magik on Magik 9, this Wednesday, August 26, Mr Camille Leblanc, coordinator of the political group VIKTWA, explained the reasons that led several political parties and organizations to meet within this structure. He evokes a common diagnosis of the Haitian crisis, a shared vision of solutions and the desire to give hope to young Haitians. He also rejects critics presenting VIKTWA as a group close to power.

According to Leblanc, the VIKTWA formation is the result of several meetings and discussions between parties that, after operating separately, chose to pool their thoughts and resources. It recognizes that this approach has not been easy, given the specific stories and sensitivities of each political formation.

However, the coordinator believes that the organizations have managed to overcome their differences through an agreement on a common process and three main directions: the same observation about the state of the country, a common approach to exit the crisis and the need to allow young people to live and build their future in Haiti.

Camille Leblanc also stresses the financial interest of this grouping of several parties in the electoral context. In his view, the costs associated with applications could be considerable and the pooling of resources would lead to significant savings and facilitate the participation of candidates.

Asked about the criticisms of VIKTWA as a group close to the government, Leblanc recalls that several political parties and groups are represented in the Executive. For him, the presence of personalities with links to power is not enough to define the political identity of the whole of VIKTWA.

The issue of the electoral process was also addressed. The VIKTWA coordinator called for compliance with the electoral decree and, in particular, the eligibility conditions for candidates. It believes that political actors must comply with the requirements and deadlines for providing the documents necessary for their participation.

As electoral preparations continue, the political group VIKTWA intends to consolidate its alliance between several groups around common objectives. For Camille Leblanc, this ability to work together must enable this structure to participate in the electoral process while carrying out a project to address the country's difficulties.
