Operation punch: Teleco under security forces control

Kenscoff, August 25, 2025.- On the night of Sunday, August 24 to Monday, August 25, 2025, between 1am and 4am, the specialized units of the Multinational Mission of Support for Security (MSS) and the National Police of Haiti (PNH) conducted a large-scale coordinated operation that allowed to regain control of the strategic district of Teleco, previously occupied by the gang led by an individual known as "Izo2". The intervention, methodical and targeted, resulted in significant losses in criminal ranks, several arrests and the seizure of weapons.

Coordinated offensive against armed gangs

The transaction started in absolute discretion. Between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m., MSS-PNH joint forces surrounded the Teleco area, a strategic target long controlled by armed groups. The objective is to regain control of the sector, neutralize hostile elements and restore public order.

The officers conducted a systematic house-by-house search to dislodge gang members and secure civilians. Several armed individuals were neutralized or captured, while a large arsenal was seized. The security forces also dismantled barricades erected by gangs on the roads of Teleco and Kenscoff, thus reopening the road to traffic.

In a joint statement, PNH Director General Vladimir Paraison and MSS Commander Godfrey Otunge affirmed that this operation marks a turning point in the fight against armed gangs. "The era of impunity is coming to an end," they said, noting that other targeted operations are already in preparation.

Security officials commended the resilience and cooperation of the people of Teleco and Kenscoff, while reaffirming their commitment to ensuring sustainable security in these areas. "Peace and stability will come back, but it requires constant effort and continued solidarity," they stressed.
