Port-au-Prince, 10 February 2026.- The Director General of Police, André Jonas Vladimir Paraison, announced the implementation of an expanded offensive called « Operasyon San Kanpe « , designed to restore state authority in areas under gang influence. The announcement was made following a high-level meeting held on Monday, 9 February, bringing together police officials from the West Department and specialized units.

This command meeting assessed the security arrangements and redefined operational priorities. The departmental directors, the chiefs of tactical units and the officers of the police hierarchy reviewed the actions already carried out in several sensitive communes. Interventions at Croix-des-Bouquets, Tabarre, Arcahaie and in some neighbourhoods of Port-au-Prince were presented as encouraging signals, although the situation remains complex.

According to the Director General, the new phase of operations will have to combine permanent pressure on criminal bases, securing major roads and protecting civilian populations. The head of the Gang Law Enforcement Force, Inspector General Godfrey Otunge, reiterated his troops' support for the HNP units, saying that coordination between the various components will be crucial to the lasting weakening of armed networks.

Through this initiative, the Police Constitution intends to show that it retains the initiative in the face of insecurity. The authorities ensure that interventions will be continued on a continuous and more structured basis, while promising regular communication in order to keep the population informed of developments in the field.
