New York, 15 July 2026.- On 14 July, a delegation from the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation (MPCE), mandated by Minister Sandra Paulemon, participated in a working lunch organized by the Permanent Mission of Lithuania to the United Nations on the sidelines of the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development and the ECOSOC High-Level Segment.
Conducted by the Director General of the MPCE, Guy Roméro Latry, and Ambassador Guy Lamothe, the Haitian delegation exchanged with the Lithuanian authorities on the possibilities of cooperation in the fields of technology, artificial intelligence, e-learning, agriculture, security and innovation.
Haitian representatives presented the government's priorities as part of the country's recovery efforts and highlighted partnership opportunities, particularly in the areas of digital education, agriculture and new technologies.
Golda Sileikaitė, Head of Division at the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reaffirmed his country's commitment to developing partnerships with Caribbean states based on innovation, knowledge transfer and common interests, rather than on a logic of humanitarian aid.
Both sides agreed to continue discussions in order to discuss modalities for future cooperation. Representatives of Barbados, Dominica and Trinidad and Tobago also participated.
