Cayes, February 10, 2026.- Nearly 40 nurses received their letters of appointment this Tuesday, February 10 in Les Cayes, during a ceremony chaired by the departmental health director of the MSPP in the South, Dr. Marie Yolenne Farah Annesteus. This integration into the public service is a response to the shortage of qualified personnel and strengthens the capacity of hospitals and health centres in the region, she said.

Dr. Marie Yolenne Farah Annesteus said the arrival of these professionals will improve access to care and patient care. Several health facilities operated with reduced teams, resulting in delays in the emergency, maternity and immunization services. This strengthening should promote more effective and organized care.

Nurses will be deployed to communities where the needs are greatest. Their presence will help reduce the workload of existing staff, improve the follow-up of patients with chronic diseases and support prevention programs. They will also be involved in accompanying pregnant women, providing basic care and responding to epidemiological emergencies.

This appointment represents a sign of hope for the health system in the South. The MSPP intends to continue recruitment and training efforts to ensure better access to care and to build public confidence in public health services.
