Haiti participated in the 46th meeting of the Committee of Experts of the Mechanism for Monitoring the Implementation of the Inter-American Convention against Corruption (MESICIC), held from 8 to 11 September 2026 in Washington, D.C., at the headquarters of the Organization of American States (OAS). This meeting is part of the regional process of assessing Member States' commitments to prevent and combat corruption.
During the course of the work, the experts reviewed the elements transmitted by Haiti, including the responses to the evaluation questionnaire of the Secretariat of MICICIC and the information gathered during the virtual visit from 24 to 26 March 2026. The discussions enabled progress in the preparation of the report submitted to the Committee of Experts.
For the Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC), this participation reflects Haiti's commitment to comply with the obligations of the Inter-American Convention against Corruption, according to a communiqué issued on Tuesday, 22 September. The process aims to strengthen national mechanisms for the prevention, transparency and control of corrupt practices.
