FIFAWorldCup2026: United Kingdom demands FIFA fair treatment for Jarell Quansah

In a letter to FIFA President Gianni Infantino on Monday, July 6, the British government requested that the suspension of a match against Jarell Quansah, expelled in the eighth final between England and Mexico, be postponed until the end of the 2026 World Cup.

While recognizing that red card was in line with the Laws of the Game, London believes that the principle of fairness must prevail. The UK authorities recall that the US striker Folarin Balogun had been lifted in circumstances considered comparable and requested that Quansah be treated equally.

The government stresses that the credibility of international competitions is based on uniform application of regulations for all selections, calling on FIFA to ensure a consistent and non-discriminatory decision before England's quarter final against Norway.
