Reynald Luberice
Port-au-Prince, May 12, 2026.- Guest of the Magik Panel this Tuesday, May 12, 2026, Reynald Luberice responded to the decision of a Miami Federal Court in the case of the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse. According to him, this trial confirms the existence of a vast process of political destabilization that preceded the crime of 7 July 2021.
For Reynald Luberice, the assassination of the Haitian president cannot be reduced to the attack carried out on the night of July 7, 2021. He claims that it was a "set of operations" built gradually through denigration campaigns, political actions and discredit strategies aimed at weakening the image of the head of state.
The former senior official found that the trial in the United States confirmed several elements related to the preparation of the assassination. In particular, he stressed the alleged involvement of persons who used American territory in the organization or execution of the plot. According to him, this judicial decision sends a strong signal to other countries called upon to cooperate in the case.
During his speech, Reynald Luberice also denounced what he considered to be a defamation campaign against Jovenel Moïse during his tenure. He claimed that certain political and media actions would have contributed to creating a favourable climate for the move to action.
Finally, he called on Haitian judicial institutions, including the Supreme Council of the Judiciary, to fully assume their responsibilities in order to advance the case and strengthen the credibility of the Haitian judicial system.
